Title - Waking Up Married
Author - Mira Lyn Kelly
Genre - Romance, Humour
Publisher - Harlequin KISS
Source - NetGalley
Synopsis - Her first thought: "Who are you?"
It's the morning after her cousin's bachelorette party in Vegas and Megan Scott wakes up with the mother of all hangovers. Even worse, she's in a stranger's penthouse having woken up with something else as well—a funny, arrogant, sexy…husband!
Up until now, finding even a boyfriend had seemed impossible—been there, got the broken heart, sworn off men for good. Then a few martinis with Carter…no, Connor Reed and she's gone from first meet to marriage in one night!
Megan wants a lawyer. But Connor's shocking bombshell?
"I don't want a divorce."
LOVED IT!
I started this late at night, and simply couldn't put it down until after I'd finished it which was way after 2AM in the morning.
Everything was predictable, the characters, the plot, the cliches. But it didn't matter because I knew that already when I picked it up.
From start to finish I literally had a big fat cheesy grin on my face. Partly because Connor and Megan were perfect. The meshed so well together, there wit and humour had me smiling throughout and the other part because Connor's almost page-ly reminders that this was simply a mutual partnership. No love allowed. Normally when a character continuously keeps reminding me about something, I get annoyed. But in this case I couldn't help but shake my head at him. So deluded.
This was a great good-feel book. Funny, relaxing, lovable characters. I simply couldn't have asked for more... Maybe a 1 year after epilogue?
But I'd recommend this to any female fan of summer reads.
I for one know for a fact that I will definitely re-read this when I'm feeling blue.
5/5 - Ticked all the boxes for me.
